The one I had was absolutly.... stupid. A Stanley knife sheath, with an aluminium piece sliding out.

This one is closer to the real thing.
It's all plastic and as dull as it gets, con proof.

Some details I left out or changed, cause I don;t think they'll endure a convention otherwise. I made the handle a little bigger so it shows when you hold it.

The end of the blade can be extended while the blade is attached to the gauntlet. So I still have the effect of a hidden-blade popping out.

I can manually get the blade of the gauntlet, as it is attached with a magnet. The backblade can then also be manually flapped out.

I think it works and looks decent enough :)

PVC plastic and layers of wood.

oh thanks i made one out of wax paddle pop sticks and foam because pvc is too expensive here

You're right. Desmond's blade isn't detachable. I just thought it was unlikely he had inherited it from an ancestor of over five centuries ago.
